Las Vegas, NV—June 9-11, 2010 --Jupiter Systems, the industry leader in display wall technology, announced strong demand for its PixelNet family of distributed display wall processors across multiple industries.  PixelNet installations can be found in applications as diverse as Rio Tinto mining operations in Australia, U.S. Cellular telecommunications in Illinois, Pari Mutuel Urbain off-track betting in France, Puget Sound Energy in Washington State, and Guangdong Mobile in China, a mobile operator with more than 340 million subscribers.  The new family of high performance, networked video display wall processors was introduced at InfoComm two years ago.

“We are very pleased with the consistently strong demand we’ve experienced for our revolutionary PixelNet product family across industries and countries, “said Brady O. Bruce, Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Alliances at Jupiter Systems. “Customer end-users and systems integrators appreciate the powerful, highly scalable, distributed display wall system. Users can start with a single input and a single output and enjoy the certainty that they have purchased a system with the flexibility to expand to hundreds of inputs and outputs as their requirements evolve.”

PixelNet installations can be found around the world, from New Orleans to New Zealand, from Romania to China and beyond, in industries including public transportation, traffic management, public utilities, security, defense, emergency operations, telecommunications, finance, health care, education and government.

Some Background
PixelNet® is a revolutionary new way to capture, distribute, control and display digital and analog video sources for audiovisual applications. Based on technology previously used for data communication networks, PixelNet adopts Gigabit Ethernet and Ethernet switches for use with high resolution, real-time video. Using packet-switching technology, any information source can be shown at any size on any display or array of displays.

The powerful new family of products was designed for scalability and flexibility. The same component parts can scale from a single input distributed to a single output to literally hundreds of inputs and outputs. Outputs can be defined as a single display or logically grouped together to create one or more display walls.  With PixelNet, the comprehensive management of multiple walls distributed throughout a facility is made easy through a single graphical user interface.

PixelNet is recognized for its profound scalability.  As their needs change, customers can expand an existing wall or accommodate a new set of inputs by simply adding output or input nodes.

PixelNet input nodes are small, silent and use very little power.  Since PixelNet is based on Ethernet technology, the entire system is inherently fault-tolerant. PixelNet makes creating complex topologies of inputs, outputs and switches simple, cost effective, and future proof.

All of this power and flexibility is managed by Jupiter’s PixelNet Domain Control software, which provides an intuitive, object-oriented, drag-and-drop interface to control and manage multiple inputs, outputs and display walls.  Applications that would traditionally require many separate vendors and a heterogeneous solution can be addressed with a single system of interconnected PixelNet nodes controlled through the PixelNet Domain Control software.

Third party applications and control systems are supported with the included API and network control protocol.  PixelNet nodes can also integrate with Jupiter Fusion Catalyst systems via CatalystLink.
